Derek Clark, a Motivational Speaker and Author shares his heart wrenching story of being brutally abused by his mother, father and stepfather. He describes his emotions of feeling unwanted, rejected and angry after being left at a psychiatric hospital at 5 years old. Derek encourages his audience to look beyond a child’s behaviors and make connections to give children what they need. He credits the start of his triumph to a case worker and foster family who decided to view him differently as well as his love for & ability to use the arts, music and rap as tools for healing.
