Foster Children face huge challenges in the school system already, but gifted foster children can struggle with even more social emotional issues if not appropriately supported. Gifted children are not always high performers or perfectly-behaved children. In this training. Our presenter will talk about misconceptions and strategies to improve services for our gifted foster kids. She will specifically discuss stereotypes, gifted characteristics and needs, gifted education policies and procedures, as well as particular issues that make foster children at risk for under-identification and lack of services for gifted needs.
