In this workshop participants will learn the importance of meaningful engagement with families. The presenter will discuss who is included in a family, why engagement is hard, but necessary and how to engage families easier. The presenter will discuss the role of siblings and how sibling relationship assists with social growth. Social workers play a critical role in the lives of children in the foster care system. Tips and tools are provided for professionals to help them navigate when siblings are separated or having placement issues. Additionally, the process of linking families with services and discharge planning is discussed.
