Training Description

Change is on the horizon for Florida's child welfare system of care. Do you know what these changes are and how the changes will impact you? Since 2006, Florida has operated under a Title IV-E waiver that allowed flexibility in the funding of child welfare services. This waiver will expire on September 30, 2019 and Florida will return to operating under the traditional Title IV-E provisions. Additionally, the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) was signed into federal law by President Trump on February 9, 2018. Several provisions of FFPSA will require substantial changes to the Department's current child welfare practices. This webinar provides participants with a basic understanding of Florida's Path Forward, which includes strategic initiatives to address the expiration of the Title IV-E waiver and preliminary implementation of FFPSA.
