September 7, 2018

Training Description

In this workshop, the presenter will engage participants in an interactive discussion on the mechanisms of disease risk and factors associated with resiliency. During the first half of the workshop, participants will learn important information on the emerging science of adversity and key factors and clinical interventions that promote resilience. For the second half of the workshop, participants will break into small groups to discuss specific case vignettes and have an opportunity come up with a plan to translate the science into best practice for the youth described in the vignette. The presenter will facilitate a guided discussion as the small groups share their plans with the entire group and discuss additional strategies to optimize the outcomes for the different youth.
